Easy 3 Ingredient Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken

Ingredients

  • Boneless Chicken Breasts: I use one chicken breast per person, so if you cooing for not only your self you can simply do the math.
  • Yoshidas Teriyaki Sauce: The main ingredient that you will give your chicken is its delicious taste. You can pick any other brand that suits you.
  • Niko Niko Calrose Rice: I’m using it to serve with the Teriyaki chicken, you can opt for any other rice that you prefer.

Step-by-Step Directions

Step One โ€“ Start by gently pounding the chicken breasts to make them thinner. If you like your chicken thicker, feel free to skip this step.

Step Two โ€“ Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker, and if you’d like, lightly season them with salt and pepper.

Step Three โ€“ Pour Yoshida’s Teriyaki Sauce over the chicken, ensuring that each piece is well coated. Gently mix the chicken around to allow the sauce to spread evenly underneath as well.

Step Four โ€“ Cover and cook the chicken on LOW for 6-7 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours. This will make sure it’s fully cooked and tender. To get ready for serving in about 30 minutes, follow the instructions on the package to prepare the Nikkos sticky rice.

Step Five โ€“ After the chicken is done cooking, take it out of the slow cooker and put it on a cutting board. Cut the chicken into thin pieces and place it on top of the sticky rice. Add a little more teriyaki sauce for an extra taste.

How to serve teriyaki chicken

  • A classic way to enjoy teriyaki chicken is by serving it on top of rice, sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds and sliced scallions.
  • This chicken recipe pairs perfectly with noodles as a bed or side dish. You can easily make several noodle dishes to go with this, like buckwheat or soba noodles. Just sprinkle them with soy sauce and sesame oil. Also, don’t forget to toss in any extra sesame seeds and green onion you have into the noodles. I really enjoy the delicious flavor of rice noodles and lo mein.
  • Another fantastic option for a side dish is roasted root vegetables, which are similar to a stir fry. You can easily cook some carrots, onions, colored bell peppers, and sweet potatoes by sautรฉing or roasting them. Then, you can either serve them alongside the chicken or mix them together with the chicken.
  • This idea may not be traditionally Asian, but a refreshing salad or cole slaw pairs wonderfully with teriyaki chicken. Add some sesame ginger dressing to give it an Asian flavor.
